Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The numbers we are seeing are way too low

How do they plan to get to 12,000 if they cut a hundred here and there?

Agreed, OP. They will have to come up with Plan B and C and D if they don't hit their magic number. I don't see them doing it this year so more to come is my guess. I just know I'm helping by taking the ERP but there is still a lonnnnnnng way to go because Plan A ain't gonna do it IMHO.

Population of Intel by end of 2017 will be back up to 108,000. RCGs will continue to be hired in droves to replace the outgoing workers.

You heard it here first!

All server validation teams are being impacted, layoff and site closure. Leave it to the device people to validation servers. Great plan to refocus on server like BK said.

USA Today reports that as per SFO interview the goal is 6000 by end of the year.

  • Oregonian reports that ISP portion is 3561.

So it means that another 6000 2017. Looks like those will come from completing site closures.

Intel will have NO problem making these numbers. Simple after another year of not meeting forecasted revenues.

The 12,000 total won't be realized until mid-2017. Site closings, project evaluations, and more voluntary and forced attrition to continue.

It means the number of layoffs we see so far are too small to reach the 12000.

There are some international closure that we probably do not know about yet.

and wonder "geez how come the lights are not on?" and come to think of it, nobody was at the front desk as I walked by the security desk. That's when you will know YOUR site is closed. Thank goodness its HUMP day tomorrow.

It is because 12000 includes layoffs as well as site closing/project cancellation stuff. So site closing will be the main contribution of 12000.

The industry is changing and the market is saturated with computers, laptops, and cell phones.

Even apple reported its first lose in 13yrs.

The tech industry is changing.
