The companies are ruined not by its employees but their TOP Management. If anything the heads of these a--holes must roll first.
I worked in the "tech" industry for close to 40 years. In the early days we were use to companies closing their doors as fast as the opened. While others laid off as fast as they hired. So I started my career knowing a company only owed me two things.
1) Pay for the days I worked since my last paycheck.
2) My accrued vacation.

Yes, this is how meritocracy works. The people with highest merits are put first.
We need to do this from a position of strength because it would be dumb to run the company to the ground once we are already there.
NEWS FLASH:
CORPORATIONS do not care about you at all. They do not care if you just bought a house, if your wife is pregnant and you are the bread winner--irrelevant. Get out as you are taking up oxygen.
Just remember that when you go to that next corporation and they tell you how great you are and how they couldn't run their company without you......
