Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Sorry to Say this but INTEL is run by complete idiots

As a former qcommer I can say with 100% certainty that hiring Murthy is the stupidest decision a board/CEO can do. This fatass f---ed qcom over to the point where he was fired as an exec. Which never happens at the Q.

Look it up from old news. That whole 64-bit and overheating 810 and crappy tier 2 processors in 2015 are his fault. Someone with a history like this becomes #2 at Intel.... unbelievable truly.

You guys better jump ship while you still can. No way such leadership will do any good to the company.

I fully expect within 2 years for Murthy to be pushed out. The Gunslinger doesn't become the Mayor, and also matches BKs pattern of bait and switch.

Murthy sounds like a gift from Qualcomm - Qualcomm sent him over to save Intel by not promoting him. Intel will win since Qualcomm has no insensible leader who could only choose a joke other than true talent like Murthy.

Is that funny or stupid?

.. hiring Murthy is not a problem....the problem is there was a need to layoff 12K people from Intel which in itself shows how mismanaged Intel was...... Murthy just took the action item to clean Intel's act before things became desperate.....

murthy being replaced by Amon is joke....no one ever took Amon seriously.... actually Q doesnt have any sensible leader .... you will see more problems with Mollenkof/Amon at helm.... but Murthy was a smart leader..... at least he made these VPs/directors accountable to something ....

I am not sure if Murthy is a bad hire, but hiring him appeared to be a quick decision to grab a leader only available from a successful company Intel wants to learn something from. It is a concern to see how much BK is relying on him.

Qualcomm chose Cristiano Amon over Murthy as president of its chipset business (“clear choice” as the company stated it). Amon is now one of top 10 executives in Qualcomm. If Murthy had stayed with Qualcomm, he could not have been one of top 10 executives. Intel hired him for $25 million as the president. He is number 2 in Intel - a new brain of BK. This should indicate how capable BK is and the quality of Intel management as compared with QCOM.

As someone who personally knows Brian since 1993, I totally disagree with your assessment of Brian. Brian has worked very hard to get to where he is today, nothing was handed to him. I haven't directly worked with Brian in a long time, but I can tell you that he is a dedicated man, professionally and personally and only wants what is best for the company. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made, I know that he does not take this current activity lightly. With all of this being said, I am affected by this activity and I look at it as an opportunity to move forward and on to a new adventure.

Good point. As an ex-Intel employee in AZ, I can tell you all the stories about BK's rise to sell glorification are not good. This is a dispicable human being to say the least. He was outright candid in the office area often chewing people out in person or on the phone using four letter words to embarrass himself. Just a disgraceful person. Sounds like he picked up a real loser from QComm. Two peas in a pod. Can't wait to see who wins.
