Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What are the projects in risk to be closed? Servers? SoC?

That's where the real big % of layoffs will be, right?

Last year BDC and Hudson got wacked by the PVE HC reduction -17%. It is completely wiped out now. CDC and Dupont got hit this round. All EP/EX validation were done in those 4 sites.

In 2006, when Stacy Smith coordinated the massive SET measures with 1000 manager layoffs and such stuff, it was told that there will be guard-rails put so that similar layoffs do not happen anymore.

Did the guard-rails fall off? Or is this 12000 reduction a part of the same guard-rail in action?

It is not rumors. Everyone who involved in server validation are being layoff by HC reduction, site closure. BDX was a prime example to get a layoff team to finish and deliver product. Sure seem like everything works and ready to hit the market. Just ask the people who involved in the PRT since two weeks before Christmas. It is not fun.

Server validation was dismantled slowly in the last couple of years by those KB's. Nobody care if it make sense or effective. "Result Orientation" is not valued. In fact, "Integrity" is not an Intel value anymore. This is a direct result of running the entire Intel as a factory by a TMG guy.

Server are growth and focus is only lip service. Yes, server still have the market share and margin for the moment. It is still funding the those fools who say Intel should be in tablet, phone and IOT.

Server projects will pay a hefty price. But who care? We get the HC -12000 and in Q4 we will hire some RCG with no earthly idea about sever with a sign on bonus.

Well, but we're starting to lose some server market anyway, right?
