It's fine to have vision during times of transition, but it would have been really great to see leadership that takes into account the enormous human cost. His email could have waited until next week after the first huge round of layoffs are done. People are still scared. "Let's talk about the future and completely ignore the elephant in the room - which would be every one of you sitting at your desks reading this, hoping you don't get tapped on the shoulder and ushered into a conference room."

Very poorly timed. It is not an exciting time at Intel. Maybe next week. Quite possibly July. Just not now. People are demoralized, distracted and understandably upset. We heard all of this during the BUM. Sending out this message this week comvinces no one of anything other than apparent insensitivity at the top of the company to the tough times they chose to exert on many people. And yes Intel is overall a good comapny to work for and this is the risk we take working in a technology company. But leadership screwed things up awhile back and now the rank and file are being made to pay for what they did not do to keep this company growing. Leadership takes the risks. The troops take the fall when they fail. They get to leave and spend more time with their millions and thousands have to find another way to make ends meet when things don't go as they had hoped..

I am waiting for the day when the Intel Board realizes that Krayzian and his almost entire top management is full of bull-shit and gets rid of them. If they dont, blough jobs at Intel will lead Intel to ist slow death. All those you think they are smart, my want to leave Intel now before it is too late
Poorly timed email, insenstive and arrogant. Anyone who works here knows this strategy by now and we are tired of hearing it. Absolutely no regard for the layoffs and impact on people. This will do nothing to motivate people, maybe its intended to increase VSP acceptance.
The people doing the work will not be needed. There will be project cancelation. The road maps are all over the place.

The company is changing and the 45+ American women and men in senior grade levels (8+) are being phased out.
I am not sure if this is age discrimination, but why would you promote me to this level just to let me go.
Intel is a good company to work for but not good company to retire from.

He is trying to encourage a demoralized employee base. Here is the state of things. I took some data today (Yes I actually worked). I emailed the data to the person that it was for. I cc'd his boss. I get a reply from his boss advising me he is no longer with Intel. I ask who I should send the data too. I resend it to the person recommended and this person replies back by email that they have no idea what the data is for and that I sent it to the wrong person. So while I am working and getting things done, it appears to be a futile effort in advancing the current project because the people doing the work were ISP'd.
I may survive this purge (or maybe not). But for the rest of my life, I will remember what these dirt bags did on 4/25/16. That is how I intent to move forward.
As a victim of Black Monday 4/25/16, I support Intel in celebrating this "Moving Forward" victory. I do agree the timing is bad. Some people probably have not been notified of the ISP.

Trying to divert attention from all the layoff news in the media. Every time I turn on the TV I see Intel Layoffs here, intel layoff there. He is in DEEP sh-- listening to Murthy.
I think Murthy is setting up BK exit so he can become CEO faster, Its a set up.
BK had to do deal with some PR damage control, specially cater to stock holders and investors. Timing is perfect just for that fact. Maybe HR thought lets also make sure the left over employees feel good and work hard to drive to our goal. It's a slap to the face no matter how anyone sees it.

Definitely poorly timed. Also felt like it was a semi-poor attempt at convincing people that he's right. I say semi-poor because the argument makes sense, but the wording was strange. Repetitive, overly wordy, so overly confident that it raised flags, and the graphic just didn't work for me. I get the message, and I generally agree, but everything said in it could have been done 1-2 weeks from now in video format and been much clearer (though I realize that it was a memo because it was released to the public as well).
Absolutely. And giving complete control to the Murthy is even worse. Together they will run the company into the ground. Murthy will move on to ruining some other company and destroy their lives and not sure what the f--- BK will end up doing.
I found it odd. I think it sounded a little desperate, like you want to tell the troops "don't look over there where we are kicking people out, I have a new shinny object, autonomous cars. Oooohhhhh aaaaahhhhh"
