Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Summer Interns

What are the chances that this layoff would affect interns who are yet to join their internship at Intel in the summer.

Would appreciate any Folsom site specific comments as well.

your daughter will be able to continue her internship. should she do an excellent job and enjoy it, an offer would be possible

Layoff the dedicated employees so that you can pay some 19-20yr olds to come in and get a paycheck for attending Intel propaganda meetings, playing frisbee golf in the parking lot, roaming the grounds, and taking care of your FLM's "make work".

Smart!

You're way better off learning in the real world. You do not want to be brainwashed into the Intel culture and never learn valuable industry standard skills. The "Intel Way" is not the "Real world way". Not trying to scare you, but just looking at this board, this is how your career at Intel will go. Not saying never work for Intel, but go out into the world first, learn valuable skills, then work for Intel where you have a choice not to assimilate.

You'll get to do more work considering teams will be short staffed.
