SSL1: Level 1 stock is recommended for employees whose contributions and growth far exceed and outpace their peers. They perform at an expert level and display critical skills. Level 1 stock is appropriate for employees who are expected to be leaders and key contributors.

SSL2: Level 2 stock is recommended for employees whose contributions and growth are ahead of their peers. They perform above average and are building critical skills. Level 2 stock is appropriate for employees who are showing the potential to be key contributors.

SSL3: Level 3 stock is recommended for employees whose contributions and growth are consistent with their peers. They perform at an average level and display standard skills. Level 3 stock is appropriate for employees who are meeting expectations and are expected to continue meeting expectations.

SSL4: Level 4 stock is recommended for employees whose contributions and growth are below the average of their peers. They perform at a modest to low level and display developing or limited skills. Level 4 stock is appropriate for employees who may take more time to grow or are new to their job.

SSL5: Level 5 (no stock) is recommended for employees whose contributions and growth fall well below their peers. They perform at a low level and display very limited skills. Level 5 stock is appropriate for employees who need significant performance management to meet job expectations.

The ratings (outstanding, exceeds expectation, successful, and improvement required) are supposed to be an indication of how well you performed your job compared to your team members. This affects your raise. IR = no raise, S = corporate average, EE = 2x corporate average, O = 3x corporate average.

The stock share levels are supposed to be an indication of how much the Intel wants to retain you as an employee. SSL1 means they want you to stay and are giving you a bunch of stock in the future as an incentive to do so. SSL5 is the same as saying you could quit today and they wouldn't care.

(Cont'd) that said, exempt or non-exempt, if any of focals rating an EE or O have anything less than SSL3, initiate an open door.

Likely fruitless but you're on record under protest.

Non Exempts have a binary stock option at focal: Stock Share Level 3 (stock) or SSL5 (no stock).

Whereas before when BE was a rating, now SSL is being used as a performance metric. So, successful with SSL5 is, in effect, a BE rating as far as the layoff machine is concerned.

SSL are ratings for exempt employees. SL3 and above would be considered successful. I think
