I don't know...I was offered a VSP in 2014. I waited until 5 mins before the deadline to accept it and then the site did not accept my accept. Fast forward to now and I thought for sure I'd get the VSP but Noooooo. So I do not subscribe to the idea that if you do not accept the VSP that you will get an ISp. It is NOT a foregone conclusion. Good luck.

I wouldn't chance not taking it and being offered something lesser, or hang on a string and wait for next years upheaval
Take it, the severance package looks good.
If you wait for an ISP you may not be able to be rehired in the future.
I believe they are allowing people 30-60 days to accept the VSP offer, so milk it for another 30-60 days, sell your stock and take the VSP in my humble opinion.
Don't leave government style operated Intel. Have fun at Intel till you get ISP. Working outside Intel is very brutal. Intel has best work/life balance compared to other hardware companies.
I have three years of satisfactory with SSL3. I'm a grade 6. Why haven't I received a VSP offer?
Consider yourself lucky and take it. It's a very fair offer that might not get better in time.
Intel is a house of cards...get out and u can possibly come back in several years if u leave with vsp
Anyone with a S and ssl3 is potentially in trouble next year. VSP is just that. You might not get a better offer though
Look Intel is changing their merit based off stock options allocated which is total bull sh--. It's going to happen every where you are judged by how many stocks you are rewarded so just leave and take your chances outside of intel. Life after Intel. Managers should all be evaluated and fired.
Do you mind telling us your grade/time in grade? Sorry about this.
If you know for sure you will get a promo mid this year then don't take it..orelse it might be a better idea to take it. The package is good and am sure you will get another job right away if you are in California at least.
so sad......
