Well, got the ISP and am out. Anyone tried appealing? I'm only pissed about the "never work here again" part - I was getting a position opened for me in a different group, who really wanted my skills, as opposed to my current group.

I sincerely hope that you've saved enough to be able to retire immediately. At your age, chances are you will never find another job and if you do statistics say it will be a minimum wage retail / food service job with a 23 year old as your boss. That's assuming you're in the U.S. It's so sad how perfectly capable and experienced "elder" workers are treated in this country. It's such a tremendous waste of knowledge. I am also part of the discarded demographic. White and over 50. I recall looking up to older experienced workers as mentors. Today's economy tosses them aside as worthless.
my shift mate had 1:1 yesterday evening. He was gone an hour later. Let go via ISP but with full ER severance. I have VSP offered. It's an ISP just with the illusion of choice. Good luck, sir. Tough times we're facing.
If it's an expected 1:1 you are ok....if its an unusually scheduled 1:1....sorry but you are about to be disapponted.
