Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Enhanced Retirement

I have been an employee of Intel for 17 years and been through quite a few of these but this time they offer the "Enhanced Retirement" package but when you look at it, it's only for the management that they want out.

I'm a technician and it's basically impossible for me to get this particular package...

You have to be offered it!!!

I'm a technician in Oregon and have been offered ERP. Really worried that it's an offer that I can't refuse, and I'll get ISP soon if I don't take it.

Second time in a year that they are trying to pay me to quit. Good thing I just finished training my 22 year old replacement who started in December.

Position isn't mattering as much this time, it was based on stock options and performance as well. Which is turning out to be quite random. I was a Technician and was let go because of a low stock option my manager slipped into my focal. "Just cutting back this year" is what the excuse was. Then it resulted in my termination because of the criteria. I did't think me taking less stock in the company would result in me "never being employed by them again" as they also demeaned me with as one of the results of this layoff. As if I ever want to work for that company ever again. I have full faith in my skill and the next company I work for will be very grateful for the skills I have now.

I know a few technicians who were offered it. I am not sure what the criteria was for it though. These 4 technicians will be a loss for Intel. Their experience and expertise will be missed.
