Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Perspective: If it really was a sh*tty company full of B*stard, racist, misogynous managers, why would anyone complain about leaving?

It seems to me it's probably a great place to work and they have tough standards. Sure, choosing people to be let go sucks. You may disagree with the criteria, but business layoff people and sometimes there is no criteria, albeit bad criteria. Quit bitching and go find a job.

The culture is not great at all.

People stay for many reasons:

High Pay

High Bonuses

Family and location

Lack of equivalent Jobs in area

Entrenchment

Socially or Network challenged

Fear of the unknown

I think for many its the fact that for decades it was a fantastic and desirable company that we could all be very proud of. Sadly it has now been run into the ground due to arrogant executives too blind to see what was very obvious to many. Now it's too late when it could have been avoided.

The bottom line this time is that you can get laid off even when the company is profitable and even when your rating is successful. This is something nice and new to learn about Intel here.
