Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Directors Levels and above Grades 9-11??

When are they going to start looking at Director level and above that are not adding value and contributing to the bottom line? What about the groups that make no money for the last 10 years? Do they even give grade 9-11 even qualify for SSL4 and SSL5?

There are higher grade levels affected by the ISP. Multiple principal engineers (grade 10) in several business groups, and at least one general manager (prob grade 11?). There is a document out that has job titles and business groups of all affected people.

Her leaving actually hit me in the feels... glad she didnt.

This other stuff is just life in tech. Accept it, work smart, understand the game and prosper. Don't get stuck in a role for too long.

Realize when you are in an impossible situation... this happens alot. Good, hard workers get screwed trying to fix the org. If you spend 2 years and get 2x S3 or lower and the org is the same... leave. Go to a new group.

It sucks.... but some form of trimming has happened every year since I can remember. (Followed by hiring RCGs.)

The exec who was begged to stay is actually a really great one (from my personal experience). I have seen her take a disfunctional BU and turn it around in a pretty short time. In my opinion, she is a much better candidate to lead Intel than the 2 guys running it now.

From what I understand from HR, when asked this question, Director and above titles are not ever given SSL4 or SSL5 , which is NOT a fair system at all. BTW we are not talking about the senior executives that left the company recently, we are talk about Directors and GMs. NOT Executive VPs. (we know those are hired and fired with Board Approval)

Notice the only exec that was "begged" to reconsider and stay was the diversity candidate.

Many of the Directors and VPs that you hear are leaving Intel to "pursue other interests" are NOT doing so voluntarily. This includes some that occurred this year. It will NEER be announced that they were "laid off"

I know of at least 3 layoffs in the last 10 years which were focused on grade 9-11. This includes the one last summer where many middle managers and those with seniority were targeted.

I know of a few great 9/10 people that were let go in this layoff. Truly talented people. They were largely scapegoated and forced out while some idiots continue their employment.

Grade 10 and above are escorted to the door when management desires to rid themselves of them.

They're running the company. Why do you expect them to leave? What are you doing besides worhtkess good catches and meaningless projects that you hand off to techs.

Nice try HR, nobody will listen to you anymore. You traitors will be amongst the first to go. How much bonus are you getting this year for replacing American workers with H1Bs?

Actually, they are adding lots of profit by firing American workers and replacing them with H1Bs. If anything they should be getting bigger bonus and raises this year.
