The Story of Your Enslavement

It's worth watching Stefan Molyneaux's video "The Story of your Enslavement".

HR and top management know that engineers will not fight back, like sales people. They take advantage of our timid personalities. They hook you in when you're young and then toss you out. I'm out of corporate life now and am thankful.

It's much like Nassim Taleb's story of the Turkey:

A Black Swan is an event or occurrence — a tail event, as Taleb would call it — that is so remote that it is completely unforeseen.

The famous example Taleb uses in his book is the Thanksgiving turkey.

"Consider a turkey that is fed every day," Taleb writes. "Every single feeding will firm up the bird's belief that it is the general rule of life to be fed every day by friendly members of the human race 'looking out for its best interests,' as a politician would say.

"On the afternoon of the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, something unexpected will happen to the turkey. It will incur a revision of belief."

The video is spot on. Looking at Intel as a microcosm of "the farm", BK is hastening the farm's demise by the inhumane treatment of us livestock. No more thought was given to firings than is given to how to administer a bolt into a cow's brain. There is no question that he considers Intel employees to be his livestock.

Geez, no no no. I thought you guys were smart. The point is NOT that people are no smarter than turkeys. The point is that people tend to think tomorrow will be like today. They do not plan for unlikely events that could occur that could make a single day quite unlike the day before.

People choose to work for intel. Its not like they were made to work there against there will. Guess the point was that people are no smarter than turkeys.

Fight back by helping the Chinese build their own x86 chip.

This is where to apply: Tianjin Haiguang Advanced Technology Investment Co., Ltd (THATIC), who is an investment arm of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
