Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Hiring RCG is OK. People with yrs of experience have to go

So i heard from a leader that RCG hiring is OK and infact approved even during this time. One of the grps i know are still interviewing for RCG and making offers. People are still coming in for interviews. Experienced level hire from outside the company is NO-NO and needs BK Approval. Logic behind RCG hiring is obvious. People who have been at intel for a long time >5 yrs are getting a sword above their head with the message, work like an RCG 24/x7 else Get out!

Notice that the ISPs will not be eligible for rehire.

Intel is purposely shrinking the pool for qualified workers so they can justify their H1B lobby to congress.

We've seen this around my team for a while now. They get a small-ish project and decide to staff it with just RCG's. The RCG team goes off and does their thing for a while, then when they ask for work reviews or give a big status update, we all see that they had no idea what to actually do, so they obviously threw something together that kinda sorta sounded right. Then the review always happens the same way, one experienced person asks a question which leads to a gaping hole in what they did. Then another question and another hole, and repeat through the review.

I'm not slamming RCG's, they're great to have around and pretty good at getting stuff done when they have a good direction to run in. But you need a mix of experience along with them, and that's slowly eroding in the company.

There will come a day, when you are older, and have a family and outside commitments, in other words a life that you will see the error of this comment.

24/7 is not a life. They day will come, and the boot will hit you in the asspretty hard.

"But I worked so hard,..."

We all did dumbass.

Some people left the team already (regular attrition or bad manager) and they are holding RCG interviews next week. One position is being advertised with Diversity in mind.

The H1B RCG I work with and see don't actually do any work. All they do is complain about how there's so much to do, they aren't willing to pick up new skills, how Intel doesn't have any free perks, and how their pay isn't as high as Facebook/Apple/Google/Microsoft. Most of the RCG that's being hired are all H1Bs. They're such a joke. "Top Talent" my ass

I am not H1B, but must mention that RCG hiring has nothing to do with H1B or Domestics..they prefer RCGs who can work 24x7.. who can not protest.. I am also an RCG who work hard..seniors spend times in gym, lunch and multiple breaks.. Independent Contributors at D1D/TMG are a--holes..F*ck them all..

Another words, hire H1B graduates to replace American labor.
