Can anyone post what is median time per grade - 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9?

Well now I know why it's taking me so long to get to Grade 8...thanks.
As per below data, for VSP, more than 2X median time in a grade does not seem accurate. It looks like less than 1X.
@H5nb0jc-zdw HR stopped allowing Successful promos almost 10 years ago because it diminished the message of being a high performer. That being said, there are still managers who attempt and some get away with it because, again, nothing at Intel is a strict policy, everything is a guideline and depending on sphere of influence anything can be negotiated. Poster @H5nb0jc-ojw is correct, you can promo if you get "repeat high performer" status which does get tracked in the system. This can be achieved by get YoY consecutive EE/O ratings in which case you should always be getting SSL1 and 2. After the 2nd or 3rd year of this Focal scenario, and if you have a good manager, they should be promoting you. If not, time to look for another group where you can be utilized to your potential :)
Anyone know what the criteria for promotion is? My manager has claimed an employee needs to get an EE or O 2 out of 3 years to be promoted. Given the low percent of people that get these rating, it seems like it would be near impossible to be promoted. Is it possible or common to be promoted, among the lower grade levels, with only a successful or one EE?
went up a grade every 2 years from grade 5 to 9 so this is not true in all cases, getting repeat Exceeds our oustanding repay times shortens the time between grades due to the 'repeat high performer tag'
also, you can think of these formulas like a credit score, like the credit bureaus, Intel will never be transparent with its ees about how they actually come up with criteria formulas to reduce h/c, just like Experian will never be transparent with consumers about how it calculates FICO. There are all kinds of measures and levers being used, time in grade has always been used as a performance management measurement at Focal fyi...
Yes @H5nb0jc-ktx you are correct, which is why its absolutely bogus that people are being identified using that criteria. AGREE! And, as everyone at Intel knows, there is no such thing as "policy", everything is a "guideline" and subject to interpretation and a workaround. The OP asked if someone could post the info, I happen to know the info so I posted, no need to be hostile towards the messenger...
I got VSP for time in grade at 8, apparently I didn't make VP soon enough. Never knew we had time in grade, if I would have known that I would have actually tried to get to the next grade but I was pretty happy with pay / work at my current grade. You think they would have to post these guidelines.
I had a mentor who was also a manager and she told me that a general thumb rule is if you are say in Grade5 and if you have been there for 5 years they usually want to give you a promo and move you to the next grade..similarly grade 6 if you are at grade 6 for six years they will look into moving you up. But when it comes to HR taking action alot comes into account like if the person took a sabattical or long leave that prevented them for a promotion, or if they moved to another team , etc.
Those times you represent are in a perfect world. Not realistic. That is HR Median Time in Grade.
1 - 2 yrs Gr 03==>05
2 - 3 yrs Gr05==>Gr06
3 - 4 yrs Gr06==>Gr07
3 - 4 - 6 yrs Gr06==>Gr07 ***can take longer due to benefits (extra vacation, target bonus % increase) granted at Gr07, many ppl promote to Gr07 and that is as high as they go in their career, typical grade levels for ICs or new FLM tracking to promo to Gr08
6 - 8 yrs Gr07==>Gr08 ***this Grade level promo tends to take longer because there are certain stock benefits granted once ee is promo'd to Gr08
Gr08 & Gr09 *People can stay in Gr08 & 09 for several years - typical grade levels for people managers and/or high level ICs though its expected that at this level you are a people manager, many retire out at these grade levels
Gr09==>Gr10 *** all Gr10+ are considered "Executive" Most at Gr10 are GMs, VPs and PEs.
my god ... it means you should go up in a period of time. the theory is it affects the intel growth ?
never mattered past grade 7 before now. supposed to be "terminal" grades after that - no negative for being in grade too long.

It depends on the grade. As you move up the time span between grades is expected to increase. If you exceed the expected time in any given grade you are at risk for layoffs.
