Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Does my manager control what date I will be let go?

I qualify for ISP with an SL-4.. and my manager hasn't scheduled anything.

Is it HR's choice, or is it my manager trying to do this?

Your manager is not the scheduler. They get this passed down from corporate.

re: my manager hasn't scheduled anything.

Your manager won't schedule anything. HR is doing the driving.

...but they are only notified of VSP once the employee presses the accept button in the email notification they received to inform them they were being offered VSP, as far as ISP, managers knew last week.

Also, if you are new to the company, you may be excluded this round.

I'm not sure if managers are notified about ISPs before you are. My manager claimed they get notified same time you do. She might have been BSing me though.

My guess is they are trying to be orderly about it instead of a mass, one day exit. Sucks if you are in that boat. If it were me, I would stay at home and login in the morning to see if I had a meeting request. When I get the meeting I would show up. Until then, I would take the time off.

HR determines the meeting date, not your manager...when HR is available they will have your manager schedule the meeting with you. Typically you will receive a mtg notification the morning of, or the night before if your meeting is in the am.
