Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Let's track the demographics - Intel will not release info

Don't know who may want to do this, but hear out this idea. Intel will never release, nor will be compelled to release, the demographics of those involuntarily laid off with this action on 12K employees. Granted, some will take a voluntary option, but many won't and will be shown the door.

Having been employed by Intel, and having accepted a VSP last year, AND knowing the deep divide that HR's so-called "diversity" program has caused through the unabashed attacks on white males, seems there'd be a collective interest in the resulting demographics to understand the underlying mechanism driving the execution of this action.

I'm not a Web developer, but am making an appeal to partner with anyone willing to help creat a platform necessary to shed an accurate light on the characteristics of those let go.

The criteria I'm looking to measure and tabulate are as follows:

  1. Gender - M/F only

  2. Age

  3. Race

  4. Length of service

  5. Intel site and Group dismissed from

  6. 2015 rating and stock level

  7. 2016 rating and stock level

  8. Technical or Non-technical job desc.

  9. Manager or ICE

  10. Grade level

( Any others?)

The truth needs to come out, and no better than through real data and not hyperbole. I want to report the facts, and not the narrative of the political elites at Intel.

I'm not here to pre-determine an outcome or to use data to distort the facts. No one ever gets the truth in any of the layoff events that occur in industry, just as we never get the truth from Washington.

If you care about the truth as much as I do, leave a comment. We'll need a message board format for this site, anonymity to be preserved, a hosted server (some, hopefully not much $$) to set it up, finished off with PM (private messaging) capability.

Adds, subtracts, modifies, .... other suggestions to make this work are very welcome.

Thank you.

may be beneficial to file a charge with EEOC. If EEOC receives an influx of filings, they will likely look into it: https://www.eeoc.gov/employees/charge.cfm

Yes, forced and unbalanced diversity has been Intel policy for some time. And it has been challenged internally yet defend. Want proof? Why won't Intel release the real demographics, not just for those eliminated but of those retained.

"Lol I'm white and don't believe the self-glorifying sh-- you Trumptards cheer for on television. "

White AND stupid is far worse than being diverse. Do you enjoy being a pimp for three liberal elites or should I toy with your hillbilly brain a while longer. Believe me I'm getting more laughs than you Skippy.

I can confirm that they do use race data during RIF despite what current CEO is saying to the media. They use data the ee enters into the Intel portal under their personal information (if the ee chooses to self-identify) or from their application upon applying. I can validate that as of 2008 wrt to race data, Asian and Indian males were NOT considered URM (Under Represented Minority) by Intel though they do audit "female Asian". They do track gender, clearly, they track age as well as all protected classes as defined by EEOC laws. The URM categories they try to impact least are Native American/Alaskan, African American, Pacific Islander and Asian/Indian TECHNICAL Female. They audit race at Focal and RIF so as to maintain parody. I have personally witnessed during RIF where Intel was mandated by third party consulting firm (hired during every RIF to audit the action) to remove all URMs from the lists of impacted ees, the only time there were exceptions was when extensive documentation could be provided of past performance issues of the URM. I can not validate how this is done at present time for the current RIF as I'm not involved. I do know that Intel (or any company in the U.S. for that matter) cannot require ees to provide race data by law, but if ees provide it themselves, Intel is allowed to use it to "monitor" and ensure that diverse composition within the company is not under/over represented.

A work-around for anyone who is brave enough to do this, who chooses to stay at Intel, go into the portal and update your race/ethnicity to be either African American or Native American/Alaskan regardless of which race you identify with. This is because Intel cannot determine your race for you, they can not dispute how you choose to self identify. Also, you can not tell by "looking" at someone what their race is, that is discrimination. Do be forewarned that if Intel ever decided to ask for race/ethnicity verification (which is legal if you have provided it) and you cannot prove your race/ethnicity, you could be subject to adverse action (i.e. proof of Native American lineage by way of Tribal Certification as every Tribal Member of the 5 federally recognized tribes are registered). Having said that, its highly unlikely that Intel would ever go to such lengths because if they did and word leaked out they would get slaughtered in the press. So, in theory, if a massive number of ees self-identify as a URM, when Intel attempts to use race data at Focal or RIF, their data will be so skewed they won't be able to methodically force diversity requirements on managers. I'm giving you this info because I fully disagree with this process, have always disagreed with it and I AM A URM! I think the way Intel forces diversity is gravely unfair. I fully support and embrace diversity within companies, its what makes a company thrive...yet I am extremely against the process by which Intel is managing its diversity goals. If they had focused more on leveraging diversity by way of training ees and managers years ago, they would not be in the position they are now where they are apparently forcing it with their hiring and termination practices. When a company is properly leveraging diversity and leadership, nothing ever needs to be forced.

The data for all RIFs is provided to the third party consultant firm on their spreadsheets (Intel uses templates provided by third party to track impacted ees) and it is sent/stored on their servers - after the action is complete, all latent race data is wiped from Intel HR systems. The race data collected from ees' profiles on their portals is housed in a separate SOR from the HRSOR and is only accessible by those with job codes which allow them to access what is referred to as "Red data". Even within HR, only a few have access to this data, and only for specific and limited periods of time (during Focal, during RIFs, and during hiring if the applicant self-identifies). Your only hope in gaining access to this data is if someone in HR leaks it out which is highly unlikely because it could create a charge...but it does exist, and Intel doesn't want anyone to know about it.

Diversity hire? Lol I'm white and don't believe the self-glorifying sh-- you Trumptards cheer for on television. You can blame all the foreigners you want, but the real reason you're a loser is right in front of the mirror.

I would add:

  • Any FMLA/MLOA or other protected leave in 2014/15? If so, what type, which year, and for how many weeks.

  • Sabbatical in 2014 or 2015? If yes, which year and which kind (4wk or 7wk)?

"Lol at this veteran who is buying to the whole thing that he is a hero. Get the hell out of here. You are lucky they hired you when your only qualification is killing innocent people in the middle east."

"Intel veteran" dumbshit. Learn how to comprehend the language. Don't bring the sins of the positions into this. And don't act stupid. If you are predispositioned that way, then my condolences. What are you doing on this board but being juvenile? Must be a "diversity hire" of the highest order. Congrats.

"The ideal place would be somewhere that people could leave WWID numbers, so the person gathering could verify that person actually was an ex-worker instead of some basement dwelling troll. The records won't be purged immediately, as far as I could tell."

You're right...self reporting this way is minimally effective in terms of sourcing reliable data. But guess who has this data.... HR. Someone has to get this info from the inside.

"Really.....Intel is against the oppressed White Male.........get a life."

Wanna check me on that? I'm a 27 year veteran. Managed 20 of those years. 2004 to now.... if you really work there, which I doubt, or if you believe that forced diversity is your version of "social justice", then sorry, there is nothing more that needs to be said.

Of course, that person keeping track would still have to be working at Intel to be able to check. There's no non-disclosure clause or anything, right? Otherwise, Nevermind.

"I'm not here here to pre-determine an outcome or to use data to distort the facts," yet you start your rant with another tired whine about "unabashed attacks on white males." That's not even worth a 'LOL'. As @EAS said, "Get a life."

This is not an ideal place, but in the lack of a better place I guess beggars can't be choosers.
