Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is it possible to volunteer to be offered VSP?

I am EE and then S SSL3 three years in a row. I didn't meet the 4 year criteria. I didn't get the VSP email but I was already planning on transitioning out of Intel. Can I volunteer to be offered VSP? What would be the best way to find out if I can do that or not without burning bridges?

I asked just a month ago. I was told no... Haha... Ohh the comedy of it all. To think last month they hired a new VP, gave him $30 plus stock options of $8 mill, and now this? Ohh you can't get mad because there are other jobs out there. You will actually have to use your brain finally but their are jobs. Just read about a high share holder selling off $187k shares. So things don't look good to him that must say something.

there have been cases where ee was close to retirement during a large action and was able to negotiate ERP however, if ee is not near Ro75 criteria for retirement, unfortunately you can't "self-select" to take VSP....you have to be offered the VSP in order to participate in that program. This is a retention lever and is what keeps what Intel interprets as it's "higher performers" from leaving, which is why they don't open it up company-wide. Hope this helps to answer your question

I volunteered in 2006. I then negotiated my ESP based on Ro75. My pitch was that I was going to retire anyway, so I could save someone's job. They bought it! So, worth a try.

Well sick HR monitors this board all they have to is write layoff.Com and ask for your isp, then give isp. Way to genius bar.

VSP is not so "V" ... If you didn't receive the offer I don't think you can get one. Saying outloud you want to leave will only burn your bridge.
