I have a surgery planed for Monday. Will they come to hospital to lay me off? My wife says they could do conference call after my surgery.

This thread made me LOL- Inhell is the source of MANY health problems for me! Anxiety at the top of the list. I would welcome the VSP!!
I live a Great Life after in hell Intel Life.. go to my job happy, listening songs loud in my car, enter the gate with a smile, leave office happy... no complains, helpful colleagues, no internal competitions among colleges or leads.. I am not scared about Mondays anymore..no weekend on-calls, night/evening passdowns to send out.. no one scolds/shout at me me here!!!
echo others here talking about life after Intel, it's true - I'm the happiest I've ever been and doing better than I did at Intel plus I no longer have irregular heart issues...win/win life is great. Though it took me almost 3 months to adjust, I had anxiety that I was not meeting obligations and recurring dreams that i was supposed to be at work, or logged onto a meeting, or about to miss a detrimental deadline leaving me panicked...then those faded after 2 months and after 3 months I could wake up relaxed because I realized I did not have to logon or be in the office. Kind of like phantom syndrome when someone loses a limb but their body thinks its still there....Strange but true.
@H4y5iIu-fbg is right. You will survive and be much happier. Just need to land a job fast and enjoy Intel severance package. If stupid Intel can't use your talent other companies will and you will shine when you change job. I am the star in the new company and lots of respect. Just wait and see.
Guys don't worry too much about the layoff. I experienced that last year. In fact I was sooo happy to return my laptop n pager/phone. That was the source of all my nights n weekends distractions. I feel so happy now for myself that I am out of Intel. Try to stay clam and behave professionally even if u think ur manager was/ is an a$$hole..everything will be fine in a month...
in 2011 I was rushed to hospital by the ER team with symptom of heart attack but luckily it was just anxiety from working at Intel and I was sent home. I no longer have these problems as I got the ISP last year. YAY!!!!!
@H4y5iIu-ioc, Sorry I didn't mean to. We needed some laugh guys. It's been too serious here and Yes I always carry the lubricant. I work for Intel so its a must.
Make sure you bring lubricant with you to ease the pain when they are giving it to you in the operating room.
eek don't joke like that, you know, in the 15 years I worked there...2 people died at my campus at their desks working late - both sudden heart attacks :( one guy was not found for 2 days because it happened on a Friday, and he was not married (no immediate family to wonder where he was) and the cleaning staff found him early Monday morning. so very sad but true...but hey, it's nice to see you are being lighthearted. Best wishes for you and your surgery!
I think if anyone on the hit list has a surgery planed out they should get pulled in to Monday if you can. I plan to have my workstation with me to complete the Sig Integrity portion of Kabylake design completed before the surgery start. I don't want SSL4/5 next year and don't want them to use this against me.
I sure hope they don't show up to the hospital as I might have a heart attack and my wife could sue them after I die.
hey, don't forget to bring your laptop with you so you can do some work at least while you're in recovery because if you don't you'll be considered a poor performer and how dare you schedule your surgery on a perfectly good workday! (sorry, had to do it ;)
I would think they'd do a conf call before your surgery so you can fully enjoy the layoff as opposed to being groggy afterward and more than likely forget the conversation.
If you got the criteria, I don't think anyone is safe
