Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Union

What is your opinion on forming a union to protect our profession?

How are we high-tech engineers any different than university professors, airline pilots, nurses, etc that get protection from corporate greed through their unions?

Leveled headed replies here. Please head over to Verizon's board and straighten out those slackers.

Unions aren't the answer, and your poor performance has nothing to do with "corporate greed".

Also, this is a reposted thread. Didn't you get your answers in the prior one?

When joining Intel, all employees sign the employment contract which specifically prohibits joining a union. So no, it can't happen.

In 3 words: Ain't gonna happen.

In 2 words: Think again

In 1 word: Seriously?

It sounds interesting, but it will never happen. The stock would tank upon such news, and the board would never allow it to happen. They would sooner close D1.
