What if it was a ploy, but in reality they actually have a broader ISP category, double the number of people tomorrow?

Not necessarily SS3 @xpi. In fact, I don't think they'd even go that route but what do I know? I just think they will (and have been over the last few years) getting creative in selecting layoff criteria. They're changing the game to suit their needs.
2 years of SS3 criteria will get rid of all grade 5s and grade6s except who joined in 2015.
Add? As in? Adding ss3 to the list will make it huge
The slide (http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=78ce21d) says there are 4748 people meeting the stated layoff criteria and that an "Expected Yield" of ~75% will produce a net headcount reduction of ~3561. The ACT Hub website uses the expression "some degree of inaccuracy" to describe this.
I take this to mean that either the criteria has been modified or the yield estimate refined. But the carefully worded Intel response essentially validates the gist of the slide. Stock grant levels are being used to identify layoff targets, and anyone with < SL3 in the last two years is at risk.
Guess we'll find out Monday have many souls are harvested.
No, I do not think Intel leaked that as a ploy to purposely mislead people. However, I think they can and will add to it. If the don't hit their target they will continue to chop away. They also said it wasn't 100% accurate. I don't think it was purposely misleading, I think they weren't 100% done figuring out what they wanted to do and doing that as we speak. They have until Monday.
The laptop prep is a good idea regardless
Can you please provide link to the ISP slide post ?
That is a possibility..so I am preparing my laptop to be handed over back to intel (moving personal data out etc) and I never had an IR/SSL4/SSL5. Who knows what criteria they are using.
