I am looking for work and I haven't been contacted for contingent work since the announcement. contingent worker contracts are at will, they can end at any time. Once mine ended on the same day another time I had only one day notice.

You can't layoff contractors at will, that'd be a violation of the contract.

no, contingent workers are not Intel ees. the effects will be felt most where projects and site closures occur, clearly there will no longer be a need for GBs so in that sense yes, but as far as the layoff, they are not involved whatsoever.
