Does being eligible for layoff guarantee that you'll be laid off? Thoughts?

I fit the criteria but I am an accountant and usually we are "protected" from re-structuring because we are very understaffed. I think this time around they will get me too. It will be across the board.

Yes. I too did not believe last year it when I matched the criteria last year. On Monday early morning 7 am got 1:1 with manager scheduled for 9 am..got ISP..manager seemed to pretend that he is very very upset and can not even talk..area manager delivered the package..i thanked them both for all their help during my stay at Intel..then left home to tell my wife that I am one of them..she broke down..i kept calm n strong ..started connecting other recruiters n friend..finally got a job in next 35 days even before my ISP package ended on July 15 plus one extra month.
