Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I should add, for VSP they'd obviously say that the employee IS eligible for rehire. For ISP they're not.

@ddf I don't know for sure, but it sounds like ISP or SSL4/5 this year is the trigger.

@jpt I believe they say whether the person is eligible for rehire only (that's the rumor). They won't mention ISP/VSP/behavior issue/etc. as a reason why. Just that Intel will not hire them back.

@zbb i am pretty sure that Intel will not give information to the potential new employer on weather it was ISP, VSP or whatever. That would be a huge liability issue for Intel and Intel doesn't gain anything from it. They will give generic information like dates or employment etc but not performance information

only one SL4 in last 3-5 years will get ISP? or just sl4 in 2016 will get ISP... any idea?

If you were out due to documented medical issues then you can challenge the ISP and I hear there's a real chance you can win. That probably explains why the leak claims that Intel assumes 75% effectiveness of the ISP's, the other 25% find a way out of it.

From what I hear (no source to back it up), companies can call a former employer and ask about somebody. They'll be given 2 pieces of data - the dates of employment and whether the person is eligible for rehire. That's where the ISP hits you, you'd be ineligible for rehire (assuming ISP's this year are ineligible like last time) and they'd state so over the phone to the new employer. So yes, it's possible that they'd find out. Best to be upfront during the interview in the new position, state that you were part of the ISP at Intel and state why.

Agreed, CAP process is different from the layoff action going on. CAP is just fixing your low focal review, it doesn't save you from the ISP.

I'm sorry OP. The logical scenario is the you'll get ISP.

I agree with people who say you will receive ISP next week. People with one SL4 are going, so my logic is people on a CAP are certainly going.

I'd like to think they'd honor the date of the CAP since you're in the middle of it. Please let us know how that ends up. Wishing you the best.

If you are currently IR, even if you are successfully completing a CAP, you will be laid off next week.

it won't matter you are in the ISP condition bucket so expect to get fired this week
