Do they pay for sabbatical

Accrued sabbatical time is paid out to California employees at rate of approximately one week per year served. It's considered vacation time and thus legal obligation to be paid out to EE.
yes they are legal obligated to pay out sabbatical so if you eligible for an 4week or 8week sabbatical that lump sum will be added to any pay out package, ISP, VSP or ERP. Remember Intel does not track vacation time (except Sabbatical) or sick time (except in some states that require it like CA). But for leave time that is tracked its earned defered income and required to be paid out
Is the same true for bonding leave?
I agree with @rsk. With an ISP you'd be very lucky to get anything from an eligible sabbatical.
For the last VSP we had a guy eligible for sabbatical. He took the VSP and disappeared the next day, basically taking his sabbatical between then and his end date. I think they did push his end date to accommodate the 8 weeks. I don't know if this was forced on him or was his own choice, I didn't speak to him before he left.
@H49qxWO-qrl sabbatical is a benefit, not an entitlement, it is not owed to any employee upon leaving the company. The VSP packages will likely cash out the ee if they are eligible on or before the date of their last day of employment as a courtesy. The ISP will likely not include cash out for sabbatical, since their term date will be immediate, they forfeit the benefit.
Not sure if that's true, mvo. I don't think you lose something that's owed to you. i could be wrong though.
No. You would loose Sabatical if you get an ISP. If you choose a VSP, you may be able to monetize a sabatical as they give you a few months to make a decision on VSP.
