Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Just heard another 2000 layoffs for Big Blue

I just heard on the news that Big Blue announced another 2,000 people to get booted. Who is left to do the work? Only people left are career chasers promoting their skills through SETC. I am glad to be out of that pressure induced environment. Good luck to the few legitimate employees left.

Hopefully shareholders think twice before giving King PK his 12 percent raise again at the end of this year. SLB has lost so much experience. Will be many years before the company can recover…if ever.

Regardless of the actual numbers SLB has terminated so many senior employees that they are now looking at buying out the Barney character to baby sit all the newbies. I love you, you love me, let's all write RIRs and get screwed on our SLP3!!!!!

Oh my naive friend after reading 7 downturn quarterly numbers you still fail to understand that the numbers reported are for that quarter and not future. You don't deserve the job in the first place.

Q2 will be a bloodbath. Lowest activity projected thus far. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Between 1-Oct-2014 to 31-Mar-2016, Schlumberger has fired 36000 employees - approximately 29% of workforce.

As already stated in the replies it was 2000 in Q1. Reported on "The Steet" website. Myself & 2 others I know were part of that layoff.

I know of 1 person gone this 2Q.

I have no inside knowledge but I expect more layoffs to come.

Nobody can really put a # of how many more is coming. The 2nd Qtr will produce lower revenue, SLB knows this so how their such a great company to a Stock holder is they get ahead of the game. I was recently let go, knew it was coming, writing on the wall. I will say there is a bunch others with nothing to do right now. So if that's the case now, and its going to get slower, I'd lay $20 bucks to a bet that there will be more cuts. If your doubting your position due to things you've noticed or picked up on, then your probably will be cut soon. Be a good idea to go ahead and get personal stuff off your Co. PC, quietly clean your office, etc.
