Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Should I worry. Hired in May '14. Successful and SSL5 for 2015.

Hired in May '14 - successful and ssl3 in 2014. Successful and ssl5 for 2015. Manager later said I was doing very well and not to worry because I have been here for less than 2 years. Should I be worried?

Anyone have the name of a good labor lawyer? The issue was allowing the bureaucracy to grow in leaps and bounds and moving many incompetent employees into managers positions which they weren't qualified for instead of getting rid of them; the classic move them over instead of out, leaving new hires with working for idiots and morons!

What about repatriation for those hired and brought in on work visas from outside the US and applying for green cards?

I recommend that if you are notified as being impacted that you open an ODI and raise issue about the fact that your manager was not compliant with the RCG guidelines in your Focal 2015, you should have automatically received SSL5 your first Focal cycle after being hired as RCG and just coming off probation - that's standard and you can validate that yourself by looking online at the Focal process data for RCGs. Then your manager should have given you SSL3 in Focal 2016 if you were "doing a good job". If you have any documentation that your manager was in fact communicating to you that you're "doing well" then you might win the ODI. Because, had your manager followed proper process and granted SSL5 for 2015 and SSL3 in 2016, you would NOT be getting impacted. The fact that your manager gave you SSL5 in 2016 is what is going to be the driving factor. Your RCG status ended 6 months after your start date so in the system, now 1.7 years after hire date you are considered RFT, not RCG

On the list for sure

The SSL is the lazy managers IR. Why go through all the CAP BS when you can give an employee a SL4 or SL5 tell them "hey your successful, here is you 2% raise, thank you for your contribution" and then 1 month later HR walks you out, easy breezy...

apologies, you were given SSL5...which is not good, because that is zero stock. Your manager is horrible if they're communicating that you're doing well but gave you zero stock. SSL5/Successful is what HR instructs managers to give to ee's who are borderline BE but executed deliverables with moderate impact and no defects. Again, sorry if this is upsetting but I think it's more important to be transparent with you because clearly, your manager is not.

Yes, you will likely be impacted:

==> From May 2014 - December 2014 you were rated Successful and given SSL3 during Focal 2015

==> From January 2015 - December 2015 you were rated Successful and given SSL4 during Focal 2016

==> You did NOT get EE or O in either 2015 (based on 2014 performance) or 2016 (based on 2015 performance) and were given SSL4 in 2016 therefore you meet the criteria for scenario #3:

"SSL 4 or 5 in 2016 (you meet this criteria because you received SSL4) Focal with no O or EE ratings in 2015 or 2016 (you meet this criteria because you got Successful in both 2015 & 2016 Focals, you did not get EE or O)"

Had your manager given you SSL3 in Focal 2016 you would not be impacted. So sorry to break it down for you like this, my heart goes out to you...I left Intel in 2012 after 15 years and I have never been happier. Go find an employer who values you, Intel refers to its employees as human capital, they do not consider them as people with feelings.... no matter how thick they poor on the "this is such a hard decision" bs.

@last commented turd: someone who started in may 2014, will get 2 focal until today. and thats what he is telling in his original post. why you say, its depend on what you got 2016. If you apply common sense, 2016 focal happen in April 2017.

Your manager is a lying moron. You are most certain not fine. Even if you survive this round, what make you think another round isn't coming again? Your manager sucks and should get a bullet to the temple.

If you got SSL3 or better in 2016, you are fine. Otherwise no - according to http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=78ce21d
