As far as I know, my team doesn't do redundant work. I am an RCG entering at grade 5. My team works on a software tool that many architecturethane teams at Intel use, and the team does not work in the PC sector.

Agree , think you'll be fine. As others say it's a great place to learn and get experience - also never hurts to have intel on our resume.
But, I also agree - don't plan on a long stay - maybe 3 years and move on ...
They'll outsource it to India and lay the American team off. It's only a matter of time.

you are fine.. if you are young engineer -- i still believe a good place to stay and learn your skill. Intel is good training place, but sucks once your grade move higher..
You are fine. Recommendation, get the heck out of this company as soon as possible. There is a layoff every year, you will always be at risk. You could be a super star and on the wrong project at the wrong time, you will age and be judged for it, your skin color might be white in which case forget about excelling. If you work out of the US you are fighting for your job against all the H1B visas. You picked the wrong company to work for, use your vacation time to interview and get out while you are young. Thank me later...
