Layoff based on performance - what percentage gets SSL4/5 or IR?

I wonder what percentage of employees gets SSL4/5 or IR every year? Can the do something like SSL3 or lower in the last 3 years? - but I assume this will be a large number, maybe close to 20%

if given SSL4/5 once within last 3 years (2014-2016), will it be impacted?

Before 2015, no one knew the implication of ssl 4 or 5. People had reasons to protest when they got laid off in previous round. It is a public knowledge that ssl 4 or 5 is an BE or IR since then. If you are still given ssl4 or 5 this year, you shouldn't be surprised if you let go.

Me too thinking if SSL4/5 ONCE in last 3 years (excluding 1st year data point) would be a reason for "layoff"? Lats year they kicked our TWO SSL4/5 over past 3 yrs. Any idea?

Please remember that: You can be Successful (meets expectation), but still can be offered zero stocks (sl 5). This happened to many of my colleagues over past 3 years. For one guy he has successful, got +1.5% increase of base salary, but zero stocks (SL5) for that year. Do you think that would lead to "layoff"?

I think it is possible, but it is not possible to get sucessful and ssl5 and still keep the job this time.

11% cut may not be distributed evenly across sites. I hope more in non-US sites.

Has any one been offered $100k for VSP? That seems what is available for now.

Intel's Stock Budget Guidelines:

Grade 6 and below: SSL3 = 95% & SSL5 = 5%

Grade 7+: SSL1 = 15%, SSL2 = 25%, SSL3 = 45%, SSL4 = 10%, & SSL5 = 5%

High Performance will get you laid off! If you perform well you will be a threat to your manager. Your manager will secretly destroy your career and pretend that he/she has nothing to do with it.

Focal document online says for grades 7 and above 15% would typically fall into ssl4 and less.

This time, they have to cast a wider net for VSP like x number of years without growing or something.

Correct. Raw focal numbers for IR + all ssl4/5 will net no more that 10%. Probably somewhere in the 7-8% range.

The goal cannot be met solely with ISP (layoff) based on focal. That is where VSP and closure/consolidation come into play.

So even if SSL4 /5 is added to IR, the maximum number that can be caught is 10% (assuming 5% get IR/SSL5 and 5% get SSL4)

The targets for IR are usually 3-5% of an organization. All IR automatically get 0 raise and no stock (ssl5).

An additional 3-5% get ssl4.

ssl3 is for the "successful"

Also, any one at a low grade level can only get stock level 1 (highest), 3 (middle) or 5 (lowest, none). Only certain job grade levels and above get ssl4 or 2 as additional options. So adding ssl4 to the criteria automatically increases the number of people in high job grades (with higher base pay) who are targeted.

IR and SSL5 are gone so fast their heads will spin.

you Intel guys realize how stupid these acronyms sound and how empty and hollow such contrived systems sound like to normal people on the outside.

My advice if you are under 40... leave Intel at the earliest oppty. There is nothing but a long slow death to your career there.

This question has been asked multiple times, the short answer nobody knows as this time will be different. If you are friends of Murthy or BK then you are OK otherwise you could be in the layoff list.
