Couple years from now looking back this could be the best thing that has happened to you. Intel sucks. without any feedback, warning you are out the door. Why would you want to work in a place like Intel. Are you stupid?

I had this experience last June. I would just suggest stay focused, never loose your cool. Go home, stay by the computer, use Linkedin as a great tool to land to the next job; connect to recruiters and friends (never be bothers by your so-called friends who pretend to help you, but actually makes fun of you miseries!!).prepare for your interviews (behavioral) and refresh your technical skills (which may have faded away during your repetitive Intel jobs)..My story is by July 22, I got 3 job offers with equivalent salary and accepted one at R feel happy as I love my job and have good colleagues (not a*holes as they were at intel) to work with.. totally love it!!! Wish you all the best guys..hope you'll soon land to another job..just keep applying!!!

With your attitude, it's a good thing for the employers at large if you are not looking for another job. Retire and spend the rest of your life telling kids to get off your lawn.

hpm, Good job. Excited for you. When you get to our age we can't take the kind of stress Intel is putting on us so need to be able to walk away. This is a good time for a lot of people to think about other alternatives for making money rather than working for a company that has layoffs every year. I wish everyone best of luck. We still need your advice on this site. I now work for a company that has 200 employees in US, make 2x compared to what I was making at Intel, better benefit, Intel and do half the work. Oh, BTW, Intel pays my salary and commissions and its not $700 each quarter anymore. :)

12,000 minus 1 @rqo. I'm retiring early via enhanced retirement, NOT looking for a job. I'll leave the working to those that have to as I don't. More people should save toward retirement so they too can retire early (or retire at all. I've seen a serious lack of savings with a lot of people which makes one wonder WTF they are thinking. (apparently they aren't thinking) I also know a lot that say they will never be able to retire since they don't have much saved. That's pretty damn stupid of them if you ask me.

Anyway, enjoy your life. I know I will start REALLY enjoying mine the moment I walk out of that place for the last time. There's better things out there than work! :)

Hopefully they will leave Washington County. We have all the Intel trash we can burn.

Get lost, moron. What are you bragging about? That you were laid off or that you were able to find a job quickly? I anything, unemployment today is lower than it was last year. Having went through this experience, one would think you should have some understanding of what people are going through. I understand that you might have some resentment towards Intel management but do you really think they are reading this site? And what happened to compassion? Sounds generational to me. Do they not teach it in computer games these days?

and welcome to the unemployment hell. Its gonna be a wild ride boys and girls. You gonna have to actually stat moving and find a job but wait, there are 12000 other ones from Intel applying for these jobs plus other people from other companies. HP just had a layoff last Monday. I went through this last year and it was not fun. Laid off June 15th and had a job offer on June 19th. See what you can do but need to start moving.
