I actually like the post below about "motivation if we got passed up for the job, don’t be discouraged – we could get a promotion elsewhere, bigger and better with a big signing bonus. As they say, someone trash is someone else treasure.
I believe what happened to Murthy could happen to any of us - in a similar fashion but not necessarily on that grand scale. When good things happen to us, we just do what we are paid to do. Hopefully we do not have to lay off thousands of people to justify what we receive - unless we are paid $25 million, of course.
