Intel Diversity

As Intel implemented Diversity it was just an extension of the age old Affirmative Action

  • stop hiring white employees - you would be told "they are not a diversity candidate" even if they were the best candidate who interviewed

  • give non-white employees a boost in their reviews so they have an extra edge

  • management would be extra critical of white employees they were trying to nudge out the door

As noted above, it is Intel's BS Diversity policy Very racist and discriminatory

At least the kept the Hudson MA site open for 20+ years. no, wait. Intel had to do that after stealing the micro-code of the Digital Alpha in the 90's google it was the start of bad management decisions

Client PC are down again? Solution - let's get rid of all the blacks and Hispanics to bring up the bottom line. Oh wait, that won't work. They only make up less than 1% of Intel's population. I'm sure that the discussion that is going on with management these days.

Basic statistics: In a random population, we assume that skill and genetics are non-correlated. So if we optimize for one random variable like skill, we would get a random distribution of the other non-correlated variables. When you seek to optimize one of the other variables, then skill is left behind as one of the other random outcomes.

The more legacy crap in the product, the more you need the old white guys who know where all the bodies are buried. Once you start with a clean slate, most of them become disposable. Unfortunately for Intel, backward compatibility means lots of legacy and complexity. This is where most of Intel noobs buy the farm because they don't have a good mentor to show them the ropes. Intel can hire diverse candidates all they want but they will fail in the end because the old white dudes say that you should know this stuff already.
