..on the path to extinction

@knk. How's your DEC and Sun Microsystems stock these days. These companies dominated servers exactly like Intel did and now they are gone - bought by other companies for pennies on the dollar for their assets after they lost to Intel. What makes Intel so special that this won't happen to them.... nothing. Capitalism is brutal - that's just the way it works. Welcome to the real world. That red pill really is a bitch.
Intel has 90+% of x86 server market. AMD gets the low end scraps. x86 plus Linux is cheaper than paying Sun or IBM big maintenance and support fees.
if the chatter on this board is from intel employeess, then no wonder they are firing people.
Nah, Intel would turn into another Via. Remember that company? Yes, Via is still around, but...
@H0P9mkt-knk 90% of server market ? You must be a brown nose and Intel balls kisser.. Intel has 57% but remember that google already announced some "strategy" regarding servers and it is not gonna be intel.. yeah.. like or dislike.. they are very good in strategy... headways into IoT spaces? With what ? Curie ? Give me a break.. I guess you ate sh-- in your breakfast...
HR working overtime.. Hehehe
Wait till ARM gives you the run for your money.. They are gonna beat you again
The only thing Dinosaurish about Intel was Otellini thinking about the mobile market. They own 90% of the server market and are making headways into IoT spaces. Wishing for Intel to die off is like wishing for Boeing to quit making airplanes.
