If you're in a canceled project then ssl doesn't matter.

I got S,S,E in my last 3 focals and always lots of stock but worried because I have only been here for 5 years and most people I work with 15+ Do they usually fire newest employees first?

The GL's have already been overheard talking. NO RSU's in past 3 = Prime Pickings. If they offer you VSP it would be very wise to accept, or roll the dice.

Folks,

Here is my simple math on the number game reaching 11% headcount reduction. I will start from last year's math.

Year 2015: 2.4% US headcount

My assumption is 20% (probability=0.2) of the population gets SSL4/5 each year and they are mutually independent each year. Similarly, 60% gets SSL3 and remaining 20% gets SSL1/2. There are some % of employee move out by some sort of attrition each year. If we look at the probability of getting SSL4/5 in consecutive year is 4% (0.20.2=0.04). Assuming some of the attritions (scapegoat during focal) count towards low performer and only 12% of previous year population with SSL4/5 is actually remaining (8% leave), the math comes out 2.4% (0.20.12=0.024) (that was the number axed last year).

This year 2016: 11% globally. 1% VSP, 1% relocation/site closure and 9% performance.

To reach 9% performance based ISP, you have to touch 60% population from last year or year before that. Assuming lower than 60% of employee population had SSL3 (or successful rating) in last 3 years consecutive (~45%!!) and had SSL4/5 in 2016 (20%). The chance is 0.45 *0.2 =0.09 or 9%.

Hence, anybody with only successful rating in last 3 years(or SSL3 and some combination of it) and SSL4/5 in 2016 will have chance of getting axed.

It may be possible that only 1 SSL4/5 in last 3 years is enough for hitting the trigger no matter what year it was that the person got SSL4/5 in last 3 years.,......

day, only if you were discriminated against and you have proof otherwise don't waste your energy. I filed the ODI (Open door investigation) and they just took two weeks to gather evidence to tell me there is nothing they can do. Also, no lawyer will take your case. They are all on Intel payroll. They won't even talk to you.

You have all the chance in the world. Being successful, on the other hand, is pretty slim (in my opinion only. I have no insider info).

Any chance of contesting an ISP?

10 times as many people are NOT going to be fired @-arz. Get your facts straight. There's also a VSP and some kind of retirement (for those eligible to retire. Unsure what else qualifies since I don't know what an "enhanced" retirement is). Those 2 are VOLUNTARILY leaving Intel, not being fired involuntarily. I've been waiting several years for this offer.... I can't WAIT!!! :)

Last year was based on that year and the previous years too.

most people fall into this category so no. however anything below success and ssl3 is gone by the end of the week. you dont get this large a layoff and survive at underperforming.

Personally (and I know nothing) I don't think that's going to happen. They have 4 different ways of hitting their 12K target and I don't think they need to go there. But that's my take.
