Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

India in Chandler

Hello, I work in Chandler AZ in packaging group and everyone around me are all Indian. My manager is Indian and her manage is also Indian. All her managers below her are all Indians. It feels like I live in India. How is this even allowed at Intel? It seems like they all know each other and related.

So glad I retired last year. Could see what was happening.... Stupid people like Roz Hudnall (Diversity Queen) have helped make this happen. And Intel, sad to say, is all the more mediocre because of it all.

1ztl - You are an amazing engineer. It's really sad that the companies you work for are not recognizing your razor-sharp intellect. Or could it be that such a superb brain is not needed to perform the work they have? I think so and that might be the reason why you would have got shown the door. Anyways, there are other options where you can use your superb brain - you can start making pizzas/donuts/croissants/burgers at the McD or Pizza hut. Pretty sure from your attitude and arrogant words that you might have ended up being in such places already. Janitor roles are the next in your path if you continue to hold your attitude.

When I was in grad school, the Indian grad students were only successful when they either had examples to work from, or they latched themselves onto an American student like a barnacle. If they were left to fend for themselves, it was clear from their code that they generally had no idea what they were doing.

That continues today. When I took over a project that was previously being done in BA, I had to throw out most of the old code because it was written so badly. It was a miracle it worked at all!

1xhf, I am not white and still find it mind boggling how all these Indians are recruited because of their nationality. In return I will automatically decline any Indians applicant that apply for a position and I recommend all others do as well. They are lazy, cheat their way through school and get hired through their friends and cousins. Time to put a stop to it. If you are a hiring manager at Intel or other high tech I highly recommend not hiring Indians.

Yes, this is true and is there to stay. Filthy maggots like you can keep badmouthing here. Intel is not your dad's saloon where only a certain color is allowed - it is a multinational corporation making money from all over the world and not just the US. Hence, they have every right to recruit whoever they want - it need not necessarily be a white old fart with a huge assand tons of attitude issues. If you have trouble working here, get lost - nobody is forcing you to stay. You can very easily be replaced by an H1B on RCG. My point is - don't expect any entitlements for your being white-skinned.

The second straight year of declining semiconductor volumes is expected. Even cheap H-1Bs are getting caught in the grinder and ending up back in the home country. Intel will continue realigning staffing with declining business leading to more layoffs. The big one will occure when they finally throw in the towel on mobile.

Let them have it. Toxic chemical fumes from heated baths with poorly engineered exhaust. Stay out if you value your health.

It's absolutely terrible - I have been in meetings where English isn't even spoken! The Indians know how to protect each other and the Chinese know how to throw you under the f-in bus.

They come from sub-par colleges in India and get into lower tier state schools for a sub-par PhD. And voila! Their cousins hire them into what was once a great American company and over decades of this bullshit happening the entire organization falls to sh--.

It's a sinking ship fellas. The only thing that's going to float is the oil from all the curry after the ship is dead and burried.

Ya, we need Indian PHD's routing substrates. Something that can be done by a RCG in Malaysia for 1/10 of the cost. They hire their brothers and cousins with PHD to route substrates. The packaging group in CH are all useless people and they all have a job because of the indian manager who only hires indians. Put that group on the chop list.

no wonder, since more than 50 % of grad school phd's are international students ( also known as indians and chinese). most high tech companies have a significant presence of brown and yellow people ! get used to it !!
