5 days per quarter, mandatory. As a field employee, I end up working for free for a month every year.

At least they are giving something in return. They could just cut your pay by 8% and make you work your assoff with no time off. Staying home with the kids and the wife an extra 20 days a year is a decent trade off.

math whiz is correct. There are only 260 work days in a year (52 x 5). Subtract 10 for Holidays. So 20/250 is .08.

Assuming you still get holiday pay, 4 weeks furlough (5 working days per week) works out to about 8 percent 1-(52-4)/52.

52 weeks x 5 - holidays. If you furlough 5 a quarter for 20 days it around a 15% pay cut

Y'all really shouldn't be bitching about furloughs. US land D&M gave all their field personnel significant paycuts while office personnel and management had "voluntary" furlough days. Which would you rather have?
