Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I took a VSP 4 years ago...

I took a VSP 4 years ago, which allowed me to retire vis a vis rule of 75, along with a great package including nearly a year's pay of severance as well as my full share EB (even though I left in December of that year).

I am sure that the packages have gone downhill since then but certainly one thing that hasn't changed I'm sure is Intel's desire to eliminate anyone with any grey showing through (because they obviously make too much), and replacing them with dumb ass, arrogant HI-B Indians, and equally arrogant (and, arguably of even less value) RCGs.

Intel used to be a fantastic place for a career,... huge impact and great recognition (and reward) for good, impactful results. But by the time I had left it had become a political cesspool, which I would venture has only gotten worse since then.

My earlier point was simply to not rely on HR or anything they say because they are not there for the benefit of the employees, they are there as the eyes and ears of Intel legal. They are there looking for anyone or anything that potentially rocks the imagery that they intend to project about their wonderful shining star on the hill.

The RCG Troll isn't going away. He already has no ties to Intel (never employed by Intel) and yet continues to stick around on this forum. And the forum is tame with infrequent postings and not much opportunity for drama - not one that naturally harbors trolls of his type. No, he has some serious obsession with Intel for some reason - maybe he won 3rd place at the Intel Science Fair many years back and then was rejected at an interview in college. He blames the rejection on the age of the current employees...That's my theory.

Every time I think of Millennials in a meeting I imagine no one speaking or even looking at each other, eyes glued to their iphone screens texting away to each other instead of putting down their phones and actually speaking to each other. lol Just like I've seen numerous families sitting around a table at restaurants not talking or looking at each other, just texting away. I find it a tad odd.

The Troll here is full of nothing but platitudes. In fact of the real world (outside his mother's basement) is just like rxq states. Successful companies are full of young and old people and their level of innovation has nothing to do with age, but rather the SKILLS of the people who work there combined with the constraints placed on those skills (aka corporate culture / aka bureaucracy). Intel's problem is not it's worker's age but the stifling level of bureaucracy. There is no "fail fast" mentality in Intel anymore like there is in the rest of silicon valley. Intel is a "fail never" world that looks more like the federal government than any company. Staff it will all 18 year olds but no change in corporate culture and the results will be the same.

Old=Out rules everywhere. Hard to digest, but true.

Old=out according to RCG Troll (aka -ept). But that over-simplified hate-based distinction doesn't work in the real world. In the real world the innovators rule and it doesn't matter if they are young (Facebook) or old (Apple, Google). It's results that matter not grey. Don't let your hatred blind you -ept.

Hey filthy mouth, if you are an old fart, the best place for you is your own home and not a great company like intel. We have never had any problem ever since you or your likes left. In fact, we should have kicked you out long long back. Today's intel belongs to the younger generation. All the grey farts making tons of money need to go away. This will continue till another set of folks get into the grey category. So, the message is - Old=Out
