don't be too perplexed...as a passerby here it is my opinion there are only 5 or 6 people posting everything. Small gene pool of whiners. Let's move on.

Read a little more, if you are actually looking at these posts. It's not that simple, bub. Some are very close to important vesting dates. Some live in areas where they are likely to find other work. MANY of IBM's targets are over 50, having spend decades of loyalty to the company, and hence due to their age unlikely to find jobs in IT elsewhere. That's just a few reasons, I'm sure there are a lot more. Oh yeah, and a lot of whining is because they are a vicious, cruel, lying, failing company that hasn't had an innovative idea in a very long time and whose board of directors and executives are screwing over the working people and looting the ship on the way down.
