Don't worry about the circus that is going on above you. Work hard for the campus you serve and they will be the deciding factor if you still have a job and the company you work for.

You are correct. College or university doesn't have a care or concern over follett store employee, they do get their contracted money either way. Money is always #1.
ND doesn't care if follett employees jobs get cut. The bottom line is all they care about is the contracted $$$$ that follett agreed to give them for us to be their campus store. If another company promises more $$$$ then follett will be gone. Private nonprofit institution my a**! It still goes back to follett trying to maximize profit and screwing the employee! That's what the follett family does best!
Notre Dame let Follett lay off over 20 FT associates in the 600+ layoff a few years back. The school had no objections. Don't fool yourself. The school wants to make money, and if that means reducing the # of employees, then so be it. All your hard work means nothing to them. Just make sure you have the books they need for students.
the colleges didn't stop the purge, they don't care.
Same here! We are a small store on a small campus and keep giving our best and hoping for the best!
Agreed we keep working hard! At our store text manager GONE, GM manager GONE, front end employees HOURs CUT(so low we think Follett just wants us to quit) Manager doing the job of 3 people(manager, text and GM) no pay increase. WE still work very hard, and give great customer service. We cant blame the customer for Folletts ignorance.
We work very hard at our campus bookstore. We value our students and give them the best possible service we can. Our Campus president often tells us "thanks for the great job you do at this campus" . Never hear compliments or encouraging words from Follett, but we still strive for excellence. No raises this year! Its hard to look to the future when the store employees are not valued and the CEO's remain
clueless. Poor decision making and upper management.
The campus can decide if Follett is worth their time or investment. They may tell Follett of the breach of contract and decide to leave.
