I was informed by employee services that I was only eligible for retirement on June 30, 2011 and only on that day. I was RA 12 days before my retirement date.

You are IBM's ideal candidate for the Resource Action. They believe that you are less likely to sue since you will have access to some type of retirement income. You will only receive 1 months severance pay, If you sign the separation agreement and give up your right to sue IBM. I would really consider not signing the document.
Also, you should go over to the Watching IBM/ facebook page and join the survey for those who have been RA'd. I think someone is building a database on the demographics of those who have been RA'd. This database may serve as the basis for some type of future action for those who have not signed away their rights.
