BREAKING: Casper Halliburton Office to Close

K2 Radio News has learned from multiple sources that the Casper office of the Halliburton Company will be closing.
We placed a call to both the local office and the company’s headquarters in Houston. The local office would not comment, and the call to Houston was not returned.
We do not know the time frame for the closure or the effect on local jobs.
But the contraction in the oil and gas industry has, if anything, sped up in the last few weeks.
Anadarko Petroleum has cut 17% of it’s workforce, 1200 jobs in Houston alone according to one K2 Radio news source in the Bayou City. Encana is rumored to be announcing cuts next week.
