Don't cry? We have known that San Francisco layoffs were coming for months. They refused to fill open reqs there opting instead for Alpharetta (you can pay slave wages in a right to work state). I can tell you one thing: the San Francisco HR team is incompetent with a level of arrogance that would make Napoleon blush. They will bungle this like they do everything. I suggest that people go in this weekend, pack up their personal things, and clean out their work computers. This is the smallest modicum of control that you can achieve psychologically.
