Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

End Employee Abuse

The "Wonderful World of Disney" abused it's employees by eliminating the current US employees and replacing them with foreigners - violating the laws of the US in the process. This MUST end. Target abuses its employees when they hire "new" employees and (at the store level) gives the newest team members the hours and cuts the existing team members hours. At corporate - same idea - let's get rid of higher paid - replace with lower paid... When you look at just yourself (I'm ok) that's selfish. This is an American phenomenon that MUST STOP. Corporations do what they want... and no longer care about their employees.. OR THE LAWS... It's way past time to stand united against abusive employers... Target needs to END THEIR ABUSIVE and UNETHICAL practices.. Workers need to UNITE and speak up!

This is somewhat true - if you're of that "age" (50 +) or have many years of service, you are on the chopping block - managers will bully you until they get what they want (you gone); there is no respect. I believe the only way to escape from this is 1) stay until they get rid of you; 2) retire; or 3) die (and if you die, you might get flowers if someone remembers; manners are rare too.

How about posting anti Disney propaganda on Disney's part of the site?

Again, I don't know anything about Disney but at the store level for Target we are allocated hours for payroll based on sales projections for staffing each month. It's been that was since 1992. You brought in Target store level positions. I've been doing payroll for our store forever, no one has ever come to me and said cut the people who make too much an hour. Our store was built in 1992 I've been here since then.

The CEO of Disney MUST GO! Robert A. Iger - made 46.5 MILLION DOLLARS 2 years ago - a 35% increase- and He's the leader without ethics.. that allows a company to disregard the laws... the unethical attorneys MUST be replaced... and the Board.. those who don't make these changes need to go also... if this doesn't happen - then a boycott... but a boycott hurts the workers... SO let's start at the top.. hold those who set the tone for business ethics accountable.. HOW? public pressure. non-stop! Now for Target same thing... ETHICS starts at the TOP! And to the comment on hours: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DOLLARS! It's just easier to use hours... but the dollars = ALL THAT MATTERS!

Don't want to get in the way of your cause, but we don't lose hours to new employees at the store level. Our payroll is allocated by hours not dollars.
