Since the big layoffs, do you think Target as a whole is in a better place, the same, or worse?

TTS here - 6 months into new role and with a new team, it sucks. The entire team I'm with hates their job, has no idea what we are supposed to be delivering, and really does not care. Lots of make believe work and results being shared. Leadership either doesn't care or know that team is miserable and not productive. My guess is they don't care, they are just trying to survive as well. Target is blowing through a lot of cash on this agile journey. They should have just laid everyone off and outsourced the few key initiatives.
Worse. Was willing to work my butt off through transformation as many people did. Now with collapse of levels NONE of it was appreciated by any of us.
Not seeing and woman hating language here. Quite a bit of hating but it doesn't appear gender directed.

vqm, when you vacate your KMG job as chief meeting attendee I will be happy to accept a promotion to fIll your spot. Right now I'm satisfied doing real work, but would not pass up the opportunity to be challenged sitting in meetings all day and pretending I'm valuable.

axy, clearly you are a top performer and no doubt KMG if you have sat through "numerous" briefings and meetings on the topic of compensation and HR best practices. My hat is off to you for a job well done. Please take the rest of the year, your bonus is in the bag.
In the last year on the whole things have changed dramatically. it does seem to be getting a little better.
wkz: some of us have sat through multiple briefings and meetings on the comprehensive changes that you'll hear about at your review. Rest assured things have changed, you can be snarky or childish and spout off all you want. Clearly you don't know what you don't know, you can infer you do....
"Compensation, Review and performance evaluation processed have been changed" I'm not sure what company you're referring to. That hasn't happened at Target. It is about to happen, but we have no idea if it's for better or for worse yet. Stop being a puppet for Target and think for yourself.
"there is a HUGE improvement".... Says every leader at Target when they drive a marginal to non-existent improvement. It's not HUGE until our guests notice. It's not HUGE until it's consistently better at all locations. It's not HUGE until it outpaces out competitors. We haven't done any of that.

koy: to the instocks: I just walked out of a Super Taget for the 16th time in the 2nd state this week. Year over year there is a HUGE improvement. Room to improve but night and day across all departments.
None of the so-called transformation matters for 2 reasons: 1. In stocks are still horrible. 2. .com sucks. Until things improve for the guest (news flash that doesn't mean stock price) we haven't done anything worthwhile. I know this company loves Target Briefly.... But seriously open your eyes in a store sometime... It's not as happy as you have been brainwashed to believe.

Stuck in a rut?? Are you kidding me!? Every single thing is changing around here from top to bottom, which to me is great since everything Gregggg and team did was a step backward. We're right in the middle of all these changes so can't really say how it's all going to pan out yet, but I 100% think we're moving in the right direction.
vfo: look, the entire HQ infrastructure is being retooled. 60% of the SVP's and up have been replaced. Compensation, Review and performance evaluation processed have been changed. Home, electronics, seasonal, grocery and of course pharmacy have been completely changed in our stores. Sourcing and Merchandising have been changed in reporting, process and alignment. Yeah, stuck in a rut nothing going on here to see.....
This company is clearly stuck in a rut that we can't contunue slash and burn our way out of. Leadership continues to scream success over marginal accomplishments, and refuses to acknowledge we have a lot of work to do. Our website fails to stand up to any large demand (Lilly & Cyber Mon come to mind...), in stocks are just as bad as they ever were, and we have less than 8 months until the next steaming pile that will be Black Friday 2016. We haven't done anything different as a guest sees it, and results won't be any different in the next year. Bryannn is just as bad as Gregg.
The only response that TGT will support is the one based on financial performance, stock price and other Wall Street indicators.
