EDMC Advising Center to Close or Major RIF in June

In keeping with the previous information I have more information regarding this June's restructure at Ai schools. I have received confirmation that the advising center will no longer be servicing Art Institute schools as of July 1st. I do not know if they will continue to service other edmc brands. If they do stop servicing all, the center will be dissolved, if they do keep servicing then there will be a massive reduction in force. This is in keeping with the new Ai on campus service model and the new block schedule format. I do not yet know if the duties of the center will fall on the existing advisor(s) already on campuses or if a new position will be created. I will add new information as I receive it.

Please, for all that is holy, let the VP be rolled into the layoff. JJ is THE absolute worst. I hope she gets canned and on her way home, she gets four flat tires. Maybe leadership could find out how she was bankrolling BMC with money she billed to Ai.

Yes - that was mentioned in an earlier post, that academics will be managed by regional directors.

This suggests that academics/faculty will also move to a centralized model run by regional departments, doesn't it?

I think what the poster meant was standardized schedules (prebuilt class times and days) as opposed to the customized schedules per campus. It eliminates the need for program directors to create them. It's being piloted (with disastrous effects) at the teach out campuses now. The issue with it is it does not account for students taking quarters off, failing/withdrawing from classes or the issue of adjuncts having limited availability. It has already delayed the graduation of over a dozen students at my campus.
