Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Being fired from Intel used to be purely a competency issue

Now with Intel's ongoing disruption by ARM it is a competency or a company issue (do successful companies have annual firings?).

I imagine firings/layoffs at AMD also started off as pure competency and gradually gained momentum until in the latest rounds they were simply the wholesale destruction of entire departments that could be most easily shut down or outsourced.

Individual or company failings - yes; but firing is never a race issue, not large scale.
