This is the GOOD thing about getting the boot last June. They already have a seat on the job bus...those getting it this summer will have much much much more competition - some probably will never find another engineering job without moving to Texas or Mumbai if at all.

Apple and Google can only absorb so much chip talent. Everyone else is down sizing. Not many unoccupied seats on the job bus.

hahaha, we did good by being laid off last yr, I got the layoff notice on Monday June 15th and had a job confirmed on Friday June 19th. Better benefits, pays more and bonuses are in thousands compared to $700 a qtr at Intel. Hope for the best for those affected. Its never fun to go through layoffs.
I'm glad I was laid off during the smaller layoff too. I actually have a better job now. Wish those guys the best. The CEO should be fired.
