hmmmm... can you really get a SSL3 and get LESS THAN successful @-hbk? I wouldn't think that was possible but never been in that position so don't know for sure. I know if I was a manager I'd give 4 or 5 to anyone less than successful, maybe even 0.
I think anything less than successful with ssl3 is going to be asked to leave. No averaging or history.
I agree with your WTF @-tgo. Stupidest damn idea I've heard in a long time. How about something that'll actually make the company money??
@jqf: Nope, the ssl criteria was made up to fit a group (blatant age discrimination) that would otherwise have been illegal to target.
@auq: What cost reductions? Intel shed ~1200 very experienced professionals and replaced them with 6000+ cheap but incompetent new hires. Racial profiling in the hiring process ofcourse don't improve the outcome, no wonder the company can't produce sh-- anymore. Mobile.. Barret killed that by giving away XScale (wasn't Paul O as others here claimed). Security.. MacAfee of all choices, hasn't made anything usefull this century! IOT.. Just a disaster waiting to happen (imagine Indian & RCG coding skills vs. the security needs). Drones.. No idea how that came about, certainly not a high margin multi-billion business so wtf.
@rni: probably right, staying with Intel looks less and less attractive (and the job market is better now than it's been a very long time).
Agreed @-rni.
Whatever happens its for the best. Sometimes you need a little push to get out of your misery.
The filters are set to meet the desired cost reduction. This year I think the threshold will be higher - much higher
If you get 2 SSL 4/5 during the last 3 yrs you qualify for ISP. This is what was used for my layoff last year. I had no prior info on this criteria. As the other member said they can come up with any scenario to let the older crowd go. This is the new way the lawyers came up with to legally fire older crowd w/o any prior warning. Leave now while employed.
Intel can change their criteria whenever they please.
