Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Unless they immediately stop sending our work to China how could there not be a layoff?

@GWylsCE-dxvux - there is no interview panel on the flash team there. they just hire friends directly without making the spots open to everyone. thats how she got in. if there had been a panel, chances are that someone on the panel would have known about her laziness and brought it up after the interview process but before an offer was made. too many people there have worked with her and know her style. by now, even more must know but the next time I have a meeting with any of that team I will ask about her and give an update.

Intel is getting hammered in share and stock price. Now they also need to pay the loafing lady a salary for what they will soon see is no value. I was at our Folsom site about a year ago and made some friends there from Micron and Intel. I'll see what I can find out about the loafer and give them some warning and show them this thread.

It's confirmed. The "loafing lady" has taken her bag of tricks from Micron to the Intel flash team. She must have been laying it on thick during the interviews to trick them into hiring her. I feel sort of badly for them that they don't know what they got. The "intel" I was given is that she used to work there before, so several of her new coworkers already know how she operates but they weren't on the interview panel to provide any warning in advance. Since Micron works closely with that team, hopefully they wise up faster than her Micron managers and send her packing quickly.

a friend of mine is friends with a guy who works with Intel's flash team in California. he is going to find out if the alleged "loafing" lady has in fact taken her con there to milk them of some free cash for a while. i'll report back with any news.

the loafing lady of Folsom was finally fired recently, but word on the street now is that she has tricked Intel into hiring her. they will be surprised when she goes back to her infamous loafing ways. i heard she will be involved with flash in some way but its not confirmed. if any of you here also work with flash, be on the look out and keep us updated on her shenanigans.

Folsom layoffs and Boise layoffs don't really go hand in hand. However, if you are one of those who have been given a departure date of next year, don't count on it. Micron is going to get rid of you long before that. If they have decided you are going to leave, they will not hang on to you for another year. Please start job hunting now. Protect yourself.

Does anyone know if the internet famous loafing lady has been fired yet or if she was one of the many who got the recent notice? It would be horrible if good people are let go in Boise while someone like that person in Folsom stays employed with Micron or employed any where for that matter.

-aupok It's hard to keep an eye on her when she is always "working from home" as she is again today. On a positive note, how did you like the Folsom site?

I was in Folsom a couple of weeks ago and eager to see the infamous "Loafing Lady" in person. I asked a few of my mates if they were aware of her and this site, but they weren't aware of either. The #1 "loafer" now has a couple more fans watching, and this site has a couple more readers.

Read the site rules - if you use 'personaly identifiable information' you will be banned, ip blocked and all your posts will be deleted.

you also cannot use foul language - do cyber bullying etc.

i have no horse in this race but wanted to remind everyone to keep it civil - i like this board and it'd be pity to start losing entries and posters based on the rules

You guys should start a new string just for the Loafing Lady of Folsom. You seem to get a lot of enjoyment out of witnessing her routinely stealing from Micron. Maybe her exploits deserve more visibility, especially since it seems obvious from reading your comments that her managers and coworkers don't mind. Maybe they are also adding no value? Like the others noted, I also think that her identity is obvious to anyone who has been to the Folsom site or works with anyone from the Folsom site. Are we allowed to make guesses here?

-6ogcz - It sounds like you ARE jealous regardless of the moral high ground you claim. We all know who you guys are calling out here. In fact, a few of us were talking about how she spent several days "working from home" last week because her babysitter didn't start yet but we heard that she was actually just selling things on social media. All of that income from Micron for doing nothing most of the time. Hmmm, would you all NOT take free money from Micron while you can if you could get away with it like she does? Yes, you guys WOULD take the money and you are all jealous for sure!

The identity of that "Loafing Lady of Folsom" is not much of a secret. Well, to everyone other than her manager it seems. We also wonder how she has been getting paid for not working in years. As noted by others here, she is skilled with exaggerating her workload and her worth. The lies seem to work for her and she must not feel bad for stealing. She does often brag about how much she spends for things like her RV or her backyard which annoys since we know its with money stolen from Micron. Its sad that people like her seem to have it easy in life. We'd be jealous if we didnt have any morals.

Incredibly, the infamous loafing lady is still employed with Micron and she still pretends to work from home regularly. In a nutshell, yes she is still blatantly stealing from Micron. Every now and then she goes in to the office so everyone can see her and hear her cackling laugh or hear her exaggerate her workload. Then while in the office, she just does what she does at home. Surfs the internet, does her bill paying, and complains that she has too much work or has an off hours meetings. It's beyond incredible that her managers don't see that she adds no value and is a net negative. Perhaps they do but they just look the other way as do many managers it seems.

Folks in Folsom - if you haven't yet been fired, what's the latest on that "loafing lady" who hasn't worked in years? Is she still stealing from Micron or is she gone already?

The infamous "Loafing Lady of Folsom" hasn't been around lately. We think she is either pretending to work from home or she is taking some undeserved vacation. If the latter, no doubt she will spend several days doing nothing other than talking about it when she returns. Then to prop up her long time illusion of adding value, she'll claim she had "so much work" waiting for her. Its outright theft. She steals 6 figures from Micron every year, and her managers have no clue.

Loafing Lady is still alive and well; still doing no work and getting well paid for it. Didn't someone say we are supposed to be watching and curbing our company spending? We are really not sure what they mean by that anymore. Does anyone know what that means?

This place wastes so much money! We actually have more planners than operators. They, in our area have more people employed here to to create work for us to process than they have work. There is no work to put out for us to do, so they do NOTHING. And there is more of them than us! Our area could easily be cut by 30% across the board without a second thought and not effect the process at all. THERE IS NOTHING TO DO! How is that for a "money saving" idea? Aren't we all supposed to be watching our spending?

We are bracing for what some are calling a "contracted" layoff; some people going but most staying in order to streamline their operations. Seems to make sense. I guess we will see.

It's commendable that Micron wants to keep as many jobs as they can, however there needs to"be" work to do. "Special projects" unrelated to what we were hired to do is not "jobs" Keep the employees that want to stay and keep them busy, otherwise let the rest of us go. This place has gotten ridiculous!

In Boise my department which is staffed my almost all ten year employees and above many with twenty years and above have never seen it so slow. No one can understand why Micron upper management doesn't streamline the area to keep the rest of us busy. Some of us are willing to be laid off some want to stay Why not make everyone happy? It will make for a more efficient and cohesive work area. DUH!!!!!

Instesd of "just getting over it", how about standing up for what is right? That person who does nothing and gets away with it might be taking your job some day or keep you from from getting a promotion. Is that ok?

You all need to just get over it. Surely you know by now that some people simply excel at making themselves look like they are busy and that they are adding value to an organization. They constantly talk about how much work they have to do, and generally fool first and second level managers into thinking that they are performing well. Yes, it's too bad that they don't use those skills instead for actually working, but since they've had so much success with not working and still getting paid, why should they stop now? The truth is that you all are more likely to get noticed for watching her and posting about her in social media. People like her rarely get caught and then they get promoted with pay increases. People like you who work hard every day don't get the same. Yes it's not fair at all and it might be infuriating as you noted, but life is not fair. She knows how to be lazy and get away with it. You don't. That's just the way it is. No sense whining about it. It's life,

Update on the "loafing lady" that we all laugh at every day, even though it is probably her laughing at us for actually working. My office mate called us over just now to see a FB post from last week. It seems that our favorite person was already 40 minutes late for work on Friday, but she bragged on FB about just sitting in her car drinking coffee because it was raining. SMH. Hello, you are already 40 minutes late! At least try to fool people by being in the building. I guess when you are able to get away with not working most of the week, you can also get away with bragging about it to your FB friends. Just wow. Why does her poor performance infuriate me and also make me jealous at the same time?

I hope someone from Micron who is in a position of authority reads some of these posts so they can get an idea of how people really feel and to have some idea of what is going on in different parts of the company. I don't think they have a clue!
