Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Furlough actually costs around 20% of my hourly wages without OT. MEANWHILE BERNARD DUROC REDUCES HIMSELF 10%. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

Combined the furloughs and no opportunity overtime (which is what most of us hourly schmucks relied on for milk and bread ) Im losing about 530 a month. I shut off the health insurances & 401k to take home 2500 a month , now with the furlough and no OT its right on 2000. ( I dont care anyone knows what I make, its not like im bragging....100 a day, big whoop) This is just perspective to make a point.

10% Bernard? IS that best you can do to set an example?

Are you gonna be ok with just 1.7 million in base pay this year? Christmas is gonna be rough this year I bet.

Forgive me for being an a--hole but its just bullshit. At least take 20% like the peons. Take all the managers down 20% and leave us poor bastards alone. We already make nothing, and have little or no chance for career advancement within the next 2 years at this place. Times are rough, in these times leadership should come from the top, not the bottom.

Work isnt being done because everyone feels a layoff is coming no matter how well they work. And managers aren't owed bonuses but they got them anyway. So uhm yeah

If you went from working overtime to furlough, and the work is still getting done, you should be glad they didnt lay you off like they should have. You are not owed anything. Especially overtime.

The best interest of the share holders would be removing the deadwood at the top of the tree. Bernie regularly makes the lists of worst performing CEOs even when business was better in previous years.

It would be a gesture of suffering in kind for Bernie to reduce his salary to $1. Isn't WFT desperate to save every dollar it can so it can make debt payments?

Well everyone Bernard will more than cover his 10% pay cut in salary if Weatherford's performance meets analysts projections and the company's performance is at par with it's peers. Remember most CEO's compensation is weighted on the contingency pay like stock options, bonuses, etc. There is a reason for. It ensures that the main person in charge is driving change in the best interest of the shareholders. So now ask again if is 10% pay-cut is equitable. He will more than recover his cut in salary

HOLY SH¡T how much an hour are you Piad?

You are right though yeah it is in the 20% cut range.

Why do some CEOs have $1 annual salaries? They have a vision they want to carry out, Bernie has no vision other than enriching himself and family. Didn't 2 of his cousins just recently get hired, and a sister in-law a few months ago?

Not to mention the managers just received a 2015 bonus which put them a break even with the pay cut/furlough.........BUT in some cases the damn bonus was more than their pay cut..

Bernard's salary is only about 10% of his total compensation package. A 10% cut to his salary is really only a 1% cut to his bottom line. Just a drop in the bucket for him. He raked in something like 16 million last year.

Pretty well put, realize we are all the same financial pain right now and it sucks for managers just as bad as hourly with all the help we have lost. The frustration is felt for sure and hopefully it will get better soon. For now we just all have to grit our teeth and get through it or head for greener pastures
